The Journey

What made this all so insane is that we left Phoenix, a land that we absolutely loved. We had an abundance of friends, salaried jobs, a home and community that we enjoyed, and favor in ministry. Ron had more than a dozen television appearances on the local NBC news as their Marriage Expert with more interviews pending.
Nonetheless, with no savings in the bank or funds for relocation or a place to live, we quit our jobs and broke our lease. Sometimes if it doesn't make sense in the natural, that's when you know it has to be God - especially when a husband and wife are in complete agreement with the insanity!
And that began a series of unfolding miracles of God reconfirming His direction on our lives. Our employers graciously received our resignation. The landlord to our rental home agreed to let us break our lease six months early with no penalty to us. The Lord used some precious friends to bless us with a brand new MacBook Pro laptop and printer to launch us into ministry. Friends purchased new iPhones for us so that we could have the right tools to get started and stay connected. God used another to do all of our logo and website development as well as to design promotional and marketing materials at no cost to us. We had a couple write a $4000 check to our ministry to underwrite our relocation across country. Others gave us financial gifts. Someone covered our car repairs and maintenance and purchased 4 new tires for our drive across country. All of this just within the first month of making our decision!
So we went: no jobs, no house or apartment, about to move across country to the greater Atlanta area with no specific destination. In our right minds, we knew that this was illogical, irrational, and irresponsible - probably not too different than Abraham being told by God to go to an unknown land that God would eventually show him. But at least Abraham was wealthy! And that’s where our faith must kick in. Because if we could see the next steps, then there would be no dependency on God to carry it out.
